Throughout the year, there is an atmospheric antique and book market in The Hague city centre. In the summer, stroll along the atmospheric Lange Voorhout and check out the antique furniture, crockery, jewellery, bric-a-brac, prints and books.
In the winter, there is a smaller book market at Plein on Thursdays. The goods for sale at The Hague’s Market along Herman Costerstraat reflects the city’s multicultural composition and, with its 500+ permanent stalls, it is one of the largest open-air markets in Europe.
Or go and take a look at UrbanFarmers, Europe’s largest urban farm situated in a former office building. On the roof, a large glass greenhouse has been built, cultivating crunchy green lettuce leaves and juicy, shiny tomatoes. Join a guided tour with a tasting or visit the Roof Market on Wednesdays and Fridays for local produce.
